QUINTANA ROO BUILDS ON SUCCESS OF 2024 IRONMAN WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP PARTNERSHIP TO BECOME AN OFFICIAL SUPPLIER PARTNER OF IRONMAN
Quintana Roo to increase presence at European IRONMAN and IRONMAN 70.3 events as the first partner of the new bike partner program
TAMPA, Fla. / CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (February 11, 2025) – IRONMAN, the global leader in long-distance triathlon, and Quintana Roo, a global leader in triathlon bikes, today announced a new partnership which sees Quintana Roo become an Official Supplier Partner of IRONMAN®.
Building on the successful partnership at the 2024 IRONMAN World Championship® triathlon in Kailua-Kona, Quintana Roo will expand their event presence beyond the United States in 2025, bringing on-site services for Quintana Roo athletes to five signature IRONMAN and IRONMAN® 70.3® triathlon events in Europe, as well as the 2025 IRONMAN World Championship races in Nice (men’s edition) and Kailua-Kona (women’s edition) and IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship race in Marbella. Quintana Roo will also be working closely with IRONMAN to introduce a series of IRONMAN branded tri-bikes designed to maximize the potential of every athlete who chooses to take on an IRONMAN branded event.
The partnership is the perfect marriage between two iconic brands who have a long and storied history in triathlon; IRONMAN, which saw its first race on the shores of Oahu back in 1978, and Quintana Roo, who developed the first bicycle designed for triathlon in 1989. As one of the earliest and most influential bike manufacturers in triathlon, Quintana Roo’s wide range of aerodynamic and practical triathlon bikes have helped thousands of triathletes realize their dream of crossing the finish line at IRONMAN and IRONMAN 70.3 events around the world.
At selected events, Quintana Roo will work alongside IRONMAN to bring its renowned level of on-site personal service at events—already familiar to triathletes at many IRONMAN events in North America—to athletes at races throughout Europe for the first time. Within the IRONMAN Village, triathletes will be able to experience Quintana Roo’s range of triathlon bike offerings and competing Quintana Roo owners will also be able to take advantage of complimentary pre-race safety and gear adjustment service on their bikes ahead of their races.
Quintana Roo will be present supporting its athletes at the following events throughout 2025:
IRONMAN 70.3 Alcudia-Mallorca – May 10
IRONMAN Hamburg European Championship – June 1
Mainova IRONMAN Frankfurt European Championship – June 29
IRONMAN Copenhagen – August 17
IRONMAN World Championship, Nice (Men’s race) – September 14
IRONMAN Wales – September 21
IRONMAN World Championship, Kailua-Kona (Women’s race) – October 11
IRONMAN 70.3 World Championships, Marbella, Spain – Nov 8-9
Quintana Roo will also be making available for purchase to triathletes worldwide an IRONMAN Edition of its flagship V-PRi triathlon bike, as well as an All World Athlete (AWA) Edition V-PRi, with a colorwayoption available exclusively for purchase to All World Athletes. Triathletes can build and order their IRONMAN Edition bike directly online, and have it shipped to their door—ready to ride.
“This partnership allows us to not only bring to IRONMAN triathletes an expansive range of triathlon bikes designed solely for top-tier performance in multisport, it allows triathletes to experience a special level of personal attention they deserve—an aspect of our brand that has made us unique in a highly competitive landscape,” says American Bicycle Group and Quintana Roo President Chris Pascarella. “The athletes are the true star of the show, and IRONMAN’s care for the athlete runs in parallel with that of Quintana Roo; it’s something that makes this pairing so authentic and seamless.”
As an Official Supplier Partner, Quintana Roo is also the first bike brand to be announced as part of the newly formed IRONMAN® Bike Partner Program which aims to break down geographical barriers when it comes to connecting athletes with bike brands, and support the bike industry in reaching more customers globally. The IRONMAN Bike Partner Program is an exciting new concept that provides bike brands from across the globe with access to the IRONMAN audience while enhancing the athlete experience with direct engagement at selected races where support is needed the most, including the IRONMAN World Championship triathlons and IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship triathlon. The bike partner program gives brands the freedom to work within markets and events that are important to their goals as they interface with current and prospective customers.
Yanni Andreopoulos, EVP of Global Partnerships at The IRONMAN Group, said: “We are excited to welcome Quintana Roo as the first partner in our newly formed IRONMAN Bike Partner Program. Choosing your perfect race day bike and being confident it will help you perform at your best on the day can be a minefield. With this new program, our athletes have an opportunity to experience different bike brands at different races, so they can find what works for them without being limited by geographies. I am very pleased that Quintana Roo have recognized the opportunity to connect with our athlete community and committed to support their athletes at key events throughout the year, thereby improving their experience. Similar to IRONMAN, Quintana Roo has a rich history in triathlon, and prides itself on being athletic-centric in all that it does. We are very much looking forward to their increased presence at European events through 2025 and beyond.”
It is a great honor for me to be able to sign a support contract with Giant.
When I first started the triathlon, my idol was Peter Robertson, a 3 time world champion over Olympic distance. The reason why I looked up to Peter was because of his aggressive and tenacious racing style. For the majority Peter’s career, his bike of choice was Giant! My favorite bike of his, was the ONCE model, a distinctly yellow and black frame.
Other than that, I have a very strong connection to Giant and CADEX: my first road bike was a CADEX when I was 14 years old, and Christian (Blummenfelt) and Gustav (Iden) from the Giant/CADEX family have come strong through training camps together since 2018. We are almost like brothers.
Also, I’ve been training with Luke (Durbridge) of Team Jayco AlUla since I was 14 years old in Perth, and even now, when I return to Australia, we still race and train together.
Now, as I sign with Giant, I aspire to follow in Peter’s footsteps, and become a World Champion.
My road model of choice is the propel. The reason for choosing the propel is because aerodynamics have become such an integral part of short course triathlon, and the propel is an aerodynamic masterpiece.
And this year I plan to participate in middle-distance races, and I will also be riding the new ‘Trinity‘ that was just announced last week. I’ve seen Gustav riding the prototype, so I’m really excited about it now.
Although I’ll be racing abroad a lot, I’m planning to compete in the Yokohama Triathlon in May, so if you see me at the event, I’d really appreciate your support!
